AnyPS5 coverage, function lookup and setup helper
AnyPS5 turns a PS5 executable into a native Windows or Linux program. This page reads the project's published progress data live, so you can check exactly which system functions work today, then generate the commands and config files you need to try it.
01 System function lookup
Every PS5 system function the project has declared, grouped by library. Type a function name (for example sceKernelAllocateDirectMemory), a library (libSceFont) or a shader instruction (V_MAD_F32). Green means implemented; amber means declared but still to do.
Leave empty to browse libraries, least complete first.
The percentage counts functions the project knows about so far, not the full PS5 SDK, and it is not a game compatibility rate. A game only starts when every function it imports is present; the project's tools/import_audit.py checks that for a specific title.
02 What AnyPS5 actually does
Most console projects you have heard of, like shadPS4 for PS4 games, are emulators: a program on your PC pretends to be the console and runs the game inside it. AnyPS5 takes a different route. Its relinker rewrites the game's PS5 executable into the native format of your operating system, an ELF file for Linux or a PE .exe for Windows. The PS5 system libraries the game expects (libkernel, libc, the libSceAgc graphics stack, audio, fonts, save data and so on) are replaced by AnyPS5's own reimplementations, loaded as ordinary dynamic libraries. Graphics shaders are recompiled from the PS5's AMD RDNA instructions into SPIR-V and run through Vulkan.
Because the CPU in a PS5 is an x86-64 AMD chip, game code does not have to be translated instruction by instruction. That is why the project can move fast, and also why the remaining work is mostly in the libraries: every missing or stubbed function is a place where a game can stop.
The October 2026 headlines came from the shader side reaching 100% of the 1,166 RDNA 1 and RDNA 2 instructions it tracks. It matters, but it is one milestone. Rendering bugs, performance and the remaining library functions still decide whether a particular game runs.
Tested games
| Game | ID | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dreaming Sarah | PPSA02929 | Playable (Windows) | 60 FPS on GTX 1050 Ti + i5-7500; 36 FPS on Intel HD 620 |
| Hollow Knight: Silksong | PPSA12544 | In testing | Reaches gameplay in recent tests; rendering and stability fixes ongoing |
| Astro Bot | PPSA21564 | Issues | Tracked in the project's GitHub discussions |
The official list lives in docs/user/COMPATIBILITY.md. Only games you own and dumped yourself can be used; the project ships no game files, firmware or keys.
03 Relinker command builder
Download relinker (Linux) or relinker.exe (Windows) and the matching prx-linux or prx-windows archive from the GitHub releases page. Then fill in the form to get the exact command and folder layout.
Common errors on Windows
- Error 193 (not a valid Win32 application): an original PS5
.prxwas placed inlibs/. That folder is only for AnyPS5's own libraries; the game's modules go inapp0/sce_module/. - Error 126 (module could not be found): with self-built libraries, copy
libgcc_s_seh-1.dll,libstdc++-6.dllandlibwinpthread-1.dllnext to them. Release archives already include them. - create direct memory backing … failed: Windows commits up to 13,824 MiB per title at once. Enlarge the page file or close other programs.
- Missing text in menus: put system fonts or the Noto Sans substitutes in an
anyps5-fonts/folder beside the executable.
04 anyps5-input.ini generator
Controllers work out of the box (Xbox A/B/X/Y map to Cross/Circle/Square/Triangle). To change keyboard and mouse controls, AnyPS5 reads anyps5-input.ini beside the game executable. Only the actions you list are changed; the first line for an action replaces its default, extra lines add alternatives.
Key names follow SDL (Return, Space, Left Shift, F…). Mouse buttons: Left, Middle, Right, X1, X2. Mouse wheel Up/Down works for buttons only.
05 FAQ
Is AnyPS5 an emulator?
No. It relinks a PS5 executable into a native Linux or Windows program and supplies its own versions of the PS5 system libraries. There is no emulated console and no separate runtime process.
Can it run GTA 6 or other big PS5 games?
Not today. One game is marked playable. Larger titles are being tested and still have issues. Full shader instruction coverage removes one obstacle, not all of them, so treat any "GTA 6 on PC day one" claim as speculation.
Where do I download AnyPS5?
Only from github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5/releases. Sites offering an "AnyPS5 installer" or bundled games are not the project; skip them.
What PC do I need?
An x86-64 CPU and a Vulkan 1.1 GPU. AnyPS5 picks a discrete GPU first; set the ANYPS5_GPU environment variable to part of a device name to choose another one. Intel CPUs need the --to-intel flag for some games.
Does it work on Mac or Steam Deck?
Steam Deck runs Linux on an x86-64 AMD chip, so the Linux build is the one to try. On Mac, --macos produces an x86-64 file for Rosetta, but running games on macOS is not supported yet.
Is it legal?
The project is GPL-2.0 and describes itself as an interoperability and preservation tool. It does not include copyrighted code, firmware or keys. Using it with games you own and dumped yourself is the intended use; downloading games you do not own is not.
