Where it stands
Animal Well is the furthest-along game in this batch. A contributor (JAB-dev) reports it as in game and playable at 60 frames per second on Windows 11 with a Ryzen 5 5600XT and RTX 4070 SUPER. The thread lists zero open blockers. This is one person's report; no other tester and no screenshot have been posted yet.
The work was a run of 11 small fixes, all now merged into main. They fixed an on-and-off start-up failure when creating the graphics instance, a memory flag the game's C library uses at its first allocation, several missing sound-engine (NGS2) functions, choppy audio, a silent title music bug, and a limit on panning and volume levels. Reverb was added by following the PS4 version's sound library, and the author says the jump reverb matches a PS5 recording within about 0.5 dB over its first 120 ms.
Two speed regressions were found and handled. One change dropped the game from about 59 to 7.5 fps on Windows (a fix was proposed but that PR was closed, with work continuing elsewhere). Another, a draw-cache bug, cost about 10 fps and was fixed in a merged one-liner, taking one test machine from 42 to 52 fps.
On 2026-10-10 a change to a graphics queue reset function made the game crash at boot on main. It was reverted the same day, and the author confirms 60 fps again. No Linux or macOS reports are in the threads.

How it got here
- Bring-up thread opened; a first video of the game running was posted. Source
- Merged: libSceNgs2 is now built so the game's sound-engine imports resolve and start-up no longer fails. Source
- Merged: fix for an intermittent start-up failure when making the Vulkan graphics instance on Windows. Source
- Merged: choppy audio fixed by keeping silent audio ports in real time; the game's memory flag 0x8000 is also accepted. Source
- Merged: reverb that follows the PS4 sound library. Source
- Merged: panning and the default channel map, so title music is no longer silent. Source
- Merged: a draw-cache fix gives back about 10 fps (42 to 52 on one test run). Source
- A graphics queue reset change briefly broke boot on main; it was reverted and the game ran at 60 fps again. Source
